MRN 143207

 

The medical record number AKA MRN143207 has no meaning apart from the locations of City of Hope, Duarte, CA, as I was reminded yesterday (2/17/26) for the annual visit with my original oncologist, Ryotaro Nakamura, MD. What a far cry from our first encounter in 2006. 

Yes, two decades have passed since my DX (diagnosis) with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL, blastoid type) and next year will mark the 20th anniversary of the allogeneic stem cell transplant from an unrelated German donor.  The whole story is told in the book, JustinTime.
